Kumi Community Foundation (KCF) would like to express our gratitude to the congregation of West View Baptist Church in Hartlepool for collecting wheel chairs and other equipment for a distribution in Kumi, Uganda.
A special mention must go to Mr John Hobbs who has been collecting and buying equipment especially for KCF. John is so passionate about helping the disabled people of Uganda that he visits charity shops and sales to purchase wheelchairs, walking frames and various mobility aids. He then gifts them to the KCF collection.
KCF would also like to express gratitude to Mr Mathew Henderson and Mr Terry Hegarty who delivered the equipment to KCF Treasurer, Lynne Mosher. This equipment (pictured) is only a small part of their collection that has been donated by the church and John.
Lynne, who is coordinating the distribution in the Uk and Uganda said, “ I am so touched that with support from the church and with John’s commitment. We can make such a great difference to the people of Kumi. It shows that as individuals we might not be able to change the world but together we can do amazing things and be proud of what we achieve.”
All equipment collected will be refurbished by our partner charity physionet.org.uk and shipped to Uganda ready for a distribution camp in Kumi Uganda.
Following the huge success of the distribution of aid last year KCF hope to repeat this amazing achievement later in 2025.
