Day 2 Kumi.

Day Two Distribution: today we assisted 57 people with equipment . A huge number ! We worked really hard to do the best we could and pulled together as a team both UK and Uganda member. Met some incredible people today. My personal high was meeting Juliana and 89 year old woman who was such a beautiful person. I feel very blessed to be able to give her the gift of a wheelchair which will enable her to have some independence of movement rather than relying on her grandsons to carry her around.

Then there was Vivian a young extremely engaging girl who is on route to go to university. Her education is sponsored by a beneficiary through Kumi Community Fiundation. Although Vivian has significant physical disabilities she is exceptionally bright and I’m sure will graduate as an IT specialist. She spoken perfect English and Lydia made friends with Vivian and they are going to become email friends. I really enjoyed hearing them chatter with each other fully engaged in conversation about school, movies, life interests and despite the difference in culture there is a sharing of common young girl interests and aspirations.
